Yesterday,
Apple announced a new service program for the iPad Air (3rd
Generation). In the announcement, Apple said that,
under certain circumstances, the screen on a limited number of iPad Air (3rd
generation) devices may go blank permanently. A brief flicker or flash may
appear before the screen goes blank.
Affected devices were manufactured between March 2019 and October 2019 and the program covers repairs up to 2-years after the first retail sale of the affected unit.
Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will service eligible devices, free of charge.
If you believe you have one of the affected units you should find an Apple Authorized Service Provider, make an appointment at your nearest Apple Retail Store or contact Apple Support to arrange for mail-in repair at the Apple Service Center.
You can read more about the Service Program on the official Apple Support page here.
