Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank – Unboxing

In the box is the Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank (Model # OD-B5), a 4 ft. USB-C to USB-C cable, a User Guide and a 24-month Product Warranty card.

The Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank supports Power Delivery 3.0 and Quick Charge 3.0. For those of you who may not be familiar with these technologies, here is how Odec describes them.

“ USB Power Delivery is a universal multi-voltage charging standard that dynamically negotiates power output over a USB Type-C connection to safely and efficiently recharge a wide range of compatible devices.”

“Quick Charge compatible devices can be charged up to four times faster than conventional chargers. Quick Charge 3.0 is engineered to refuel devices twice as fast as Quick Charge 1.0 and is up to 38% more efficient than Quick Charge 2.0. Quick Charge 3.0 is backward compatible to Quick Charge 2.0 / 1.0 devices.”

Inside the Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank case is a 20000mAh Lithium Polymer battery delivering 74Wh.

The top of the outer case has a textured finish. Aside from adding to the appearance of battery pack, the texture improves the grip of the pack.

The Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank measures 5.6” x 2.7” x 1.1” (142mm x 68mm x 28mm) and weighs 4.5 oz (410g). While slightly heavier than some of the power banks we have reviewed, it stills fits in your hand well and feels solid when placed on a surface. There was no issue putting the Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank in our backpack for easy transport.

that indicate the charge status of the unit. There is a slight delay in the LEDs lighting after the button is pushed, but the LEDs also remain lit for almost 40 seconds once the button is pushed, which is a nice feature. We also found it very comfortable to grip the power bank in our hand and press the button with our thumb.

The working end of the Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank two (2) USB – A ports for power output and one USB – C port for input and output.. Here are the power specifications for all three ports.

You can charge multiple devices at once using all three ports but you cannot charge the Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank while it is being used to charge another device.

Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank – Test Results

As we have often said, hardware like power banks are difficult to test since we expect them to either work or not. In the case of the Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank, we were not disappointed.

Overall, the fit and finish of the power bank was excellent. Initially, we didn’t expect the textured finish on the top of the case to be anything special but we have to admit, it add not only an improved look, but an improved functionality, since the texture makes the power bank easy to hold.

With 20000mAh, you have plenty of power available. The Odec 20000mAh USB-C Power Bank can recharge an iPhone 11 Pro 4.8 times and an iPad Pro 1.8 times.

Finally, we appreciate the 4 ft. USB-C cable included in the box. One of our long time complaints has been the extremely short cables usually included with these products. With a 4 ft. cable, you can at least, connect the power bank to an outlet and still keep it in reach.
