Apple’s Glow Event

On Monday, Apple held its annual iPhone event which includes a new Apple Watch, new AirPods and of course, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.

There was a big focus on Apple Intelligence. Here’s how Apple describes Apple Intelligence.

“Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that puts powerful generative models right at the core of your iPhone, iPad, and Mac and powers incredible new features to help users communicate, work, and express themselves. You can bring these Apple Intelligence features right into your apps.”

Here’s a summary, in outline form, of the major feature announcements for each product line.

Apple Watch – Series 10

This year introduces a beautiful new design

• 30% more screen area.
• Rounded corners
• Wide Angel OLED display which is 40% brighter than previous Apple Watch versions
• Display updates once every second rather than the current once a minute.
• Thinnest Apple Watch ever

Apple Watch Series 7, 8, 9. vs. Apple Watch Series 10

• New polished aluminum colors – Jet Black, Rose Gold and Silver

• At 9.7mm, Series 10 is 10% thinner than Series 9.
• Redesigned speaker for enhanced sound output
• Improved cellular performance
• New S10 chip with a 4-core neural engine
• New sleep function can now detect sleep apnea
• Faster chagrining provides 80% battery capacity in 30-minutes
• Available in two sizes, 42mm and 46mm
• Series 10 pricing starts at $399 for GPS only and $499 for GPS + Cellular
