Circle Media Labs, Inc. has announced new integrations that include Fortnite, Whatsapp and Facebook Messenger in a major product update. While Fortnite was always manageable within the Games Category, it now has its own delineation much like Instagram and Snapchat.
Because of Fortnite’s in-game chat, Common Sense Media advises parents against letting kids under 13 play this game. But, they add that “with the right controls and parental guidance, this can be a tween-friendly alternative to violent first-person shooters.” That’s because Fortnite’s playful graphics and lack of blood make it an upbeat and fun experience. You can read more parental recommendations over at Common Sense Media.
“It’s always been important for our team to stay on top of the latest trends in technology, especially as our kids are adopting them en masse,” said Lance Charlish, chief executive officer and co-founder of Circle Media Labs, Inc. “We’ve been watching the Fortnite phenomenon play out in our own homes and wanted to have a robust product update that included the platform as well as other widely-used platforms like Facebook Messenger and Whatsapp.”
Now, you’ll not only be able to see the time spent in the Games Category, but also see it in its own platform within the app. Parents can manage Fortnite Battle Royale on all devices ranging from the Playsation, Xbox, Switch, Mac/PC and iPhone/iPad. As soon as someone in the family starts playing, you’ll be able to see that time reflected within Circle. You’ll also be able to set time limits for playing to keep tabs on healthy usage.
The Facebook Platform in Circle now tracks Messenger voice calls, so everything across the Facebook suite of apps can be managed reliably with Circle. And, speaking of reliability, Circle now tracks Whatsapp voice calls with better accuracy than ever. So, when a family member uses up their social time for the day, Circle can keep them honest and on track with their online goals.
