Synology®Announces The DS1621xs+

Power, reliability and security for a remote workforce

Synology Inc. launched DiskStation DS1621xs+, redefining performance expectations in a compact tower form-factor. Pairing a quad-core Xeon processor together with ECC memory and onboard 10GbE, DS1621xs+ raises the bar for high-performance data storage and management.

Dependable Stability, Dependable Speed

The DS1621xs+ shares the powerful Xeon processor found in other Synology data center devices. Over 3.1 GB/s seq. read and 1.8 GB/s seq. write performance means it can tackle larger data sets and handle more users, at exceptionally fast speeds. It’s also paired with ECC memory for maximum dependability, and when combined with Btrfs and other comprehensive data backup options, users can be confident their data is safe.

Big Power in a Smaller Package

Six internal 3.5″ bays enable up to 96TB of raw storage capacity. If users need more space, DS1621xs+ can expand to 256 TB, on-demand, by adding on two additional DX517 expansion units for a total of 16 bays. The DS1621xs+ also includes two M.2 2280 slots for blazing-fast NVMe cache, making read/write speeds up to 20X faster without sacrificing any bays.

Faster Networking for Bigger Files

Built-in 10GbE connection allows users to complete content-creation projects, big backup tasks and file transfers faster. The ability to add an additional 10GbE NIC can speed up high-resolution network rendering projects or provide even faster transfer performance for multiple virtual machines.

The Security of On-Site, The Freedom of Remote

Synology storage solutions are designed to simplify file storage by combining the convenience and ease of cloud services with the control and data governance of on-premises solutions. Synology Drive provides comprehensive file access with just a web browser or mobile app, while also providing advanced file streaming functionality for computers.

DS1621xs+ is available today from Synology resellers and partners at an MSRP of $1599.99.
