Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank

Last month we introduced you to the Tattu 4-Port Wall Charger.  It’s compact with plenty of power for charging all your mobile devices.  Today we’re checking out a companion product from Tattu.  The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank takes away two charging ports but replaces them with a 5200 mAh internal battery so you can charge your devices even when on the go.  The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank may be the perfect travel companion.

Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank – Technical Specifications

The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank is compact and only slightly bigger than the 4-Port Wall Charger.

The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank measures just 3”x2.8”x0.8” and weighs just 8 oz. You could easily carry it in a jacket pocket or purse and it would easily slip into any kind of backpack or travel bag.

The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank has the same fold-away US 2-prong AC plug and will support 110 – 240V, 50 – 60Hz power sources so you only need an adapter plug for overseas travel.  There are two (2) USB ports on the top of the unit, one at 1A and one at 2.4A.  Both can be used for smaller items like an iPhone while the 2.4A outlet will support charging of an iPad or can act as a fast charger for the smaller items.  Total output is rated at 17 Watts so you should have no trouble charging an iPad and iPhone at the same time.

On the front side of the Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank are four (4) LEDs to let you know how much reserve power is left in the battery and it is activated by a Power button on the top of the unit.

Like the 4-Port Wall Charger, the Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank is made from a premium thermal resistance material and has a built-in intelligent safety system against over-current, over-charging, over-heating and short-circuits.

Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank – Test Results

The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank is a straight-forward device. The AC plug easily folds down and fits into almost any standard wall outlet.

It is probably a matter of personal choice, but we like the integrated AC plug.  Many of the power banks we have seen use a micro-USB port and a dedicated cable that connects to a separate power brick.  Many people already travel with a power brick and cable and don’t see it as a problem to use them to charge their power bank, but unless you have access to AC power during the day, you may find it hard to juggle the charging schedule for multiple devices overnight.

While the Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank came out of the box well charged, we recommend that you give it a full charge before its first use.  In our case, it took less that an hour to get all 4 LEDs glowing blue and the unit itself is rated for a full charge in about 1.5 hours.

We especially like the fact that you can charge the Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank and your connected iPhone or iPad at the same time.  That makes it very convenient to pack just one device.  You can plug your phone in at night and in the morning have a fully charged phone and a fully charge power bank, both ready for the day ahead.

Admittedly, the 5200mAh internal batter is on the smaller side and you should only expect to be able to recharge an iPhone one or two times, with a little power left over.  Larger devices like the iPhone Plus and iPad will probably get you one charge plus a little extra.  That said, that should certainly get you through even the busiest of days and with the integrated AC plug, it wouldn’t be hard to sneak in a quick recharge even at your local coffee shop.

The Bottom Line

People are carrying more technology with them every day and the need for all those cords, cable and accessories can easily get out of control.  The Tattu 2-in-1 Wall Charger and Power Bank can make things a lot easier.  With its integrated AC plug and built-in 5200mHa battery, this one device will take the place of several items you are probably carrying with you now.

The compact size and two built-in USB ports ensures that you will have plenty of extra power to get you through the day and with its fast 1.5-hour recharge time, you should have no trouble keeping your devices powered up.
