BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank – Unboxing

BlitzWolf® BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank

The BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank is all about the power.  At 15600mAh, it is the most powerful power bank we have tested to date.  Like most of the power banks we have tested, the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank has two (2) USB-A ports to connect your devices and a single Micro-USB port to recharge it.  In the box is the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank, a Micro-USB cable for charging the power bank a User Manual and a warranty card.  The USB charging cable is a decent length, measuring almost 22 inches and uses a flat ribbon style cable to easy storage and transport.

The power bank itself is fairly compact given the amount of power it provides. It measures 168mm long x 61.5mm wide x 21.3mm thick (6.6in x 2.4in x 0.8in).  We had no trouble packing it into a small travel case we use for our assorted chargers and cables with room to spare. While compact, it is not light-weight.  At 420 grams (14.8 oz.), it’s also one of the heaviest power banks we have seen.  Of course, that weight also provides some stability and while using it on a recent train ride, we laid it on the seat next to us and it never moved, in spite of the many starts and stops of the train.

BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank – Test Results

We liked the overall design of the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank.  It fits easily in your hand and feels solid. The large power button on the top makes it easy to get instant feedback on the remaining power from the four (4) LEDs on the front of the BW-P5.

Out of the box, the unit had about 25% of its power so before using it we decided to give it a full charge.  The User Guide states that a full charge can take as much as 10-hours.  We plugged it into our MacBook Pro at about 8:00 PM and when we checked it the next morning, it was fully charged so we’re not sure exactly how long it took to fully charge.

The BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank supports QualComm Quick Charge 3.0 (“QC 3.0”) technology.  Unfortunately, because Apple does not use a chip that incorporates the QC 3.0 standard, the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank does not fast-charge the latest iPhone models.  That said, Blitzwolf says, “Apple devices can be fast charged using the same protocol as the original Apple iPad charger (up to 5V/2.4A Max).

In our test, we used the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank to charge an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 8 at the same time.  Both had about 20% of power and after about 45 minutes were up to about 80%.  More importantly, the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank was still showing 4 LEDs which means it still had close to 100% of its power available.  While we don’t have specific data, it is clear you can get multiple charges of an iPhone or iPad on a single charge of the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank.

Blitzwolf Ampcore Lightning Cable

With all the power that the BlitzWolf BW-P5 15600mAh Quick Charge 3.0 Dual USB Power Bank has to offer, you should make sure you have a charging cable that’s up to the task.  For that, you should check out the Blitzwolf Ampcore Lightning cable.

Blitzwolf Ampcore Lightning Cable

This multi-layer Lightning cable starts with a tough Kevlar core for maximum resistance to breakage under tension. Next, they add 22AWG Power wires and 30AWG Data wires.  The core is wrapped in an anti-jamming aluminum foil covered by a rubber-like TPE cover. Finally, the entire cable is wrapped in a double-braided polyester fiber jacket.

The cable ends are covered in a hard plastic for maximum protection and meet a softer plastic end to provide strain relief to the cable ends.

Add to that an included rubber cable tie to prevent tangles when not in use and you may just have the perfect Lightning cable.

The Blitzwolf Ampcore Lightning Cable supports 5V/2.4A output, data transfer speeds up to 480Mbps and has been tested for 5,000 cable bends without breaking.

While we don’t suggest you try this at home, the Blitzwolf Ampcore Lightning Cable was strong enough to lift a person and tow a car.
