JISONCASE Test Results

JISONCASE makes a wide variety of cases for every iPhone from the iPhone SE and iPhone 5 to the latest iPhone X.  Our test cases were the Slim Leather model for the iPhone 7.

Each case was nicely packaged in its own box with the case itself enclosed in a paper envelop to further protect it.  The slim style is properly named as these cases add very little to the overall size of the iPhone and are extremely light weight.

The interior of the case is lined with a soft material which we are guessing is a microfiber to prevent scratching of the iPhone back surface.

Our iPhone slipped into the case with no effort but once installed, the JISONCASE grips well and there was no concern that the phone would pop out.

The case covers the power button on the right side of the iPhone as well as the volume controls on the left side, but they were still very accessible, and we had no problems using them.  The cut-out for the mute switch on the left side of the phone is slightly larger than the switch which is typical for these style cases.  Even so, people with larger fingers or very short finger nails may find it a little difficult to operate the switch.

The case provides full protection along the top and side edges of the iPhone.  The bottom of the case wraps around the corners just enough to protect them against accidental bumps but otherwise leaves the bottom edge exposed.  This makes it very easy to connect even the thickest of Lightning cables and we had no trouble using a slotted iPhone charging stand with the case on the phone.

JISONCASE Slim Cases - Bottom

The front edge of the case is slightly raised and adds some nice protection along the sides and top of the phone and while this does not extend along the bottom edge, the raised edges will provide some extra protection to your screen.

During our testing we did accidentally drop our phone several times and while we can’t specifically say that the raised edges of the case prevented the screen from cracking or the edges from getting dented, we will say that the phone came through without any damage.

The cut-out for the camera and flash on the rear of the case is well proportioned and projects a mere 0.2mm above the lens.  Like the raised edge along the front, this provides a little extra protection against lens damage.

JISONCASE Slim Cases - Camera

While the leather on the cases are not quite as soft as the official Apple leather cases, we do like the texture of the JISONCASE leather and while they all have a nice grain pattern, it is more or less visible depending on the color you select.

JISONCASE Slim Cases - Colors

The leather also has a nice feel to it.  There is just enough texture to prevent the case from slipping out of your hands but not so much that it feels cheap.

We have been using the cases for several weeks and the durability is excellent.  The brown leather case has the same luster and color as when we first started to use it.

The Bottom Line

There is certainly no shortage of cases for iPhones.  Some are designed to endure the roughest of environments while others provide a unique look but don’t do much for protecting your iPhone.  We think the JISONCASE Slim Leather Case offers a nice compromise.  It adds style to your iPhone with some additional protection and is certainly an excellent choice for everyday use.

If you need a little more incentive, consider that the Apple leather cases retail for $35 – $49 depending on the size and style.  JISONCASE offers a case of near equal quality and style for about half the price.

JISONCASE not only has cases for iPhones but also has a broad selection of cases for iPad and MacBook as well as Apple Watch bands.

Assorted JISONCASE styles and colors are available on Amazon.
