Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger

Over the years, we have looked at numerous wall chargers. While they had different power output levels and different port configurations, they were all very much the same. While the same could be said about the Odec 20W Dual-Port Wall Charger, it does have one feature that caught our eye and makes it stand out from the rest.

Designed With a Twist

Up to this point, the Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger isn’t much different from many of the other wall chargers we have reviewed, and if that was all we had to say about it, we think it would be a good choice for a small, easy to carry wall charger. But it’s the other end of the charger that grabbed our attention.

This is a little hard to explain but stick with us.

In the photo above are two wall chargers. Both are facing the same direction, meaning the top of each charger is facing the top of the photo.

The charger on the left is the common plug configuration for US 120V AC outlets, with the two prongs in a horizontal configuration. Since that aligns with a standard duplex receptacle, what tends to happen is when the charger is plugged into one of the outlets, it blocks the other outlet from being used.

Odec OD-A2 Wall Charger in Outlet

On the right, is the Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger. As you can see, the plug configuration is turned 90 degrees so they are verticle. This requires you to turn the wall charger so that the narrow side is vertical and in most cases, leaves the second outlet easily accessible.

This is also an issue in many power strips and most wall chargers ultimately block one or two additional outlets.

In our testing, we found that in most applications, using the Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger kept the other outlet in the wall and power strip, easily accessible.

The Bottom Line

With its small size, light weight, the Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger is a great way to make sure you always have a wall charger available for you. But it is more than just a pretty face.

The Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger has built-in safeguards to protect your devices from over charging, overheating and excessive current.

It is capable of charging a multitude of devices including iPhone S7 through the latest iPhone 12 models, and the iPad mini 5 to the iPad 11 Pro.

The Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger comes with Odec’s 24-month warranty and is available from Amazon at a very affordable price.

We would like to thank the folks at Odec for providing the Odec 20W Dual Port Wall Charger for testing and review.
