Coming Attractions from Apple Tech Talk

We’re keeping busy in the Apple Tech Talk Testing Lab. Here are some coming attractions of interesting reviews lined up in the weeks ahead.

Network Attached Storage

We’ve already looked at some NAS servers from Seagate and Synology. We continue our review of this popular category with a look at the Netgear ReadyNAS. Is this the one you’ve been waiting for?

Document Scanners

We recently looked at the Brother ADS-1500W document scanner and you can see that review here. We have two more scanners for your consideration from Neat and Epson. We think you’ll agree these scanners have a lot in common but are all very different. Which one is right for you?

Wi-Fi Routers

For many Apple loyalists, the Airport Extreme Base Station is the gold standard router and you can read our recent review of the latest Apple offering here. But are they the only game in town? We’ll take a look at some of the latest non-Apple offerings and see how they compare.

Office Alternatives

Think word processing and the first thing that comes to your mind is usually Microsoft Word. If you’re talking spreadsheets, it’s Excel. Need to make a presentation and PowerPoint jumps to the head of the line. Microsoft Office is probably the best known Office Suite around, but it comes with a pretty hefty price tag. But is it your only option?

If you own a Mac, the obvious alternative is Apple’s Pages, Numbers and Keynote, but is that it? We’ll take a look at some of the other productivity suites available. The price is right, but can they get the job done?

That’s just a brief look at some of the hardware and software we’re working on with more to come.

What new technology are you interested in? Are you considering an addition to your personal tech world or maybe it’s time to upgrade that old piece of equipment. Why not join the conversation by adding your voice to our comments section at the end of each review.

Do you have a question or problem and can’t find an answer to? Why not post it to our Forums page and see what other Apple Tech Talk readers have to say about it.
